Hockey is just different in Singapore and Argentina…it’s a more grassroots sport, literally played on grass turfs in some locations and it’s a different style of play that will get your teams thinking about tactics and style!
Recently we travelled to Singapore with a hockey tour from John McGlashan College in Dunedin. Not long after we toured yet again with John McGlashan Hockey team to beautiful Argentina, this time with an experienced Tour Leader who was also part of our National hockey team, the ‘Black Sticks’. Both of these hockey tours were very successful in these two unique parts of the world.
On arrival in Singapore, the climate was very different to New Zealand and it took the boys a wee while to get used to the heat. The trial of playing games in the heat was taxing and something the team was not used to. The experience of the hospitality and local cuisine was very enjoyable. The attractions and sights were excellent. All in all, many #MomentsThatMatter were had by all.
A tour to South America is a tour for all the senses…the sights, smells, sounds, tastes and feel of an all new climate. From vibrant Beunos Aires with an authentic Argentine Estancia, to the beachside city or Mar del Plata and side trip to Iguacu Falls…Argentina is an experience like no other; this is why it’s one of our top destinations…we can talk about it for hours, but we’ll let Stewart literally speak for himself.
“Tour Time have provided a fantastic adventure for all involved and I have been really impressed with their overall organisation and willingness to make the tours work for us. The matches and trainings have all gone well and the boys have loved the interaction with the other teams both on and off the field.
The level of hockey has been of a high standard with skilled teams to play against and talented coaches to train with. All of the arrangements with the clubs have run smoothly and the after-match functions have proved to be one of the many tour highlights. Each tour we have done has provided us with an excellent mix of sport, sightseeing, cultural experiences and community service.
One of Tour Time’s greatest strengths is its people. The tour managers and the local guides are exceptionally good at what they do and of course the team back in New Zealand make even the most complicated logistics run smoothly. I highly recommend using Tour Time for your sports tour.”
